Founded by Carmen—a "true blue" Hong Konger who moved to Boston in 2021—our journey began with a simple craving. Despite the endless aisles of local Asian grocery stores, Carmen and her family realized that certain authentic Hong Kong Comfort Food and local staples were simply out of reach.
In 2025, she decided to fix that. Partnering with her mother—a retired Hong Kong restaurateur who owned and operated a local 茶餐廳 (Cha Chaan Teng) for years—Carmen launched this mini grocery store to bridge the gap between "home" and "here."
Leveraging her mother’s professional eye for sourcing the real-deal ingredients used in HK’s iconic cafés, they hand-pick every hot pot base, herbal tea, and instant gourmet meal. Whether you’re a Hong Konger living abroad or a global foodie seeking the city’s unique culinary treasures, we ship the best of Hong Kong directly to your door—from the 852 to the world.

Since settling in the U.S., Carmen and her daughter discovered a new obsession: Trader Joe’s. From the legendary Everything But The Bagel Sesame Seasoning to their limited-edition snacks and iconic canvas tote bags, they became instant converts.
We realized that just like Hong Kong’s street food, Trader Joe’s has a cult following that spans the globe — but their stores don't. That’s why we’ve expanded our mission. Hong Kong Foodies now offers global shipping for Trader Joe’s must-haves, serving fans in cities without a local TJ’s and foodies worldwide who want a taste of American favorites.
