The traditional method of preparing chai in India is made by simmering a mixture of milk, water, tea, sweeteners and spices. The most commonly used spices are ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, star anise and cloves. Trader Joe's has created their own perfect combination of fine Assam black tea and spices for a warm and soothing cup with an authentic indian chai flavor.
BREWING INSTRUCTIONS
Hot tea by the cup
Pour freshly boiled water over one tea bag. Steep 4 to 6 minutes and remove tea bag. Add milk and/or sweetener for a true chai experience.
Established in California in 1967, Trader Joe's has become a well loved American neighborhood grocery store chain in the U.S., known for its private-label products their buyers traveled all over the world to source. Although Trader Joe's retail footprint is only in the U.S. and they only operate physical retail stores, the brand and its products have gained its following and love internationally.
